What To Do in Austin, Texas

Though weird, Austin is always fun. Visitors of Austin can look forward to massive music festivals, fascinating museums, beautiful parks, and plenty of nightlife.
Traveling with children? The attractions of Austin provide plenty of kid-friendly activities. If you’re an outdoor loving family, visit historic Deep Eddy Pool, or explore the grounds and exhibits of the Austin Nature & Science Center. Other outdoor activities include the nearby Hamilton Pool State Park, and the active Zilker Park.
Austin also puts you smack dap in the middle of Texas Hill Country, home to many nearby wineries, breweries, and distilleries. Find the tasting room at Jester King Craft Brewery, Spirit of Texas Distillery, or Flat Creek Estate winery – all just minutes from Capital City.
And speaking of Capital City, visitors of Austin are encouraged to tour the State Capitol Complex, along with other educational stops like the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum – found on campus at the University of Texas.
Since Austin is known as the Live Music Capital of the World, there’s a good chance you can catch a music festival during your time in town. Austin plays host to the famed South By Southwest festival, along with many other celebrations – music based or otherwise – happening throughout the year.
Downtown Austin is another must-see. Catch a show at Paramount or State Theater, or a movie at a Alamo Drafthouse location. Then spend a day exploring one of two locatioins for the Austin Museum of Art. Many more galleries, restaurants, and music venues are found downtown, so take your time, and take in the sights of Austin.
Whether driving through Hill Country or flying in to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, you’ll find plenty of fun waiting for you in Austin.
