Do it Big in Downtown Dallas
Museums, Historic Sites, Sports – It's All in DT
While the Dallas metro area has many charming and affable cities and suburbs, a stay in downtown Dallas never disappoints. Whether it be the history and nostalgia of Dealey Plaza, Sixth Floor Museum, and the JFK Memorial Plaza, or an evening of elegance and sophistication at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, home of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Make the drive in from Arlington or Addison.
Plan a tour of the Dallas Museum of Art, where kids 11 and younger always gain free admittance. The Dallas Museum of Art has tours, a gift shop, and you’ll also enjoy a nice lunch at the DMA Café.
Travel into downtown Dallas from Duncanville or Seagoville for a day of aquatic adventures at the Dallas World Aquarium. You and the kids will be surrounded by the likes of tiger rockfish, giant pacific octopus, and symphony of strawberry anemone.
Continue your scientific journey through downtown Dallas with a visit to the Museum of Nature & Science. Let the kiddos roam and experience some of the permanent exhibits like the Paleontology Lab, or the Texas Dinosaurs exhibit, where they’ll be able to view dinosaur fossils found across the Texas landscape.
Visiting in the fall? Perfect. You’ll want to plan a trip to the American Airlines Center for exciting NBA and NHL action. Home to the Mavericks and Stars, the American Airlines Center hosts concerts and other performances throughout the year, too. Visit from as far north as Lake Dallas, and the southeast from Kaufman.
