American Southwest Conference Rises
A smaller conference by nature of big name schools, the American Southwest Conference was founded in 1996, and features 16 members from Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi. Fielding sports teams that compete at the Division III level, the American Southwest Conference headquartered out of Richardson, a suburb of Dallas.
Texas plays a predominant role in the American Southwest Conference. With 12 of the 16 teams in the American Southwest Conference calling Texas cities home, it’s easy to see why.
