Head to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area for the many professional teams of the Big D. The third biggest, and largest domed, stadium in the NFL, Cowboys Stadium is a unique epicenter for football, basketball and concerts – not to mention a home to many original artworks best viewed on the Art Tour at Cowboys Stadium.
Even soccer fans can check out the FC Dallas of the MLS at FC Dallas Stadium in nearby Frisco. Everything from footballs to soccer balls in the Big D – the heart of Texas sports.
The fourth largest city in the country is home to some pretty big teams as well. Houston, nestled on the beautiful Gulf Coast of east Texas, plays host to MLB’s Houston Astros and NBA’s Houston Rockets.
Members of the National League, the Houston Astros encourage fans to come see the show at Minute Maid Park – right there in downtown Space City. Pick up an Astros t-shirt or hat at the Team Store, and be sure to wear it on the tour of Minute Maid Park. Check out the Clubhouse and Twilight Tours – where you’ll see the Astros clubhouse and views of Houston from the roof of Union Station – or sign up for the Early Bird Tour and catch batting practice before the game.
For more action in Space City, check out a basketball game with the Houston Rockets. Members of the Southwest Division of the Western Conference, the Rockets call the Toyota Center in downtown Houston their home.
Football fans – and we know you’re out there – don’t miss a game with the Houston Texans of the NFL. Head to Reliant Park – complete with a retractable roof to keep out that humid Houston heat – for a fantastic football game right there in Space City.
San Antonio Teams
San Antonio is a basketball and hockey city – and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Home to NBA’s Spurs, WNBA’s Silver Stars, and AHL's Rampage, River City really knows how to get it to the net.
Winter, summer and spring, the AT&T Center is bustling with excited fans of roundball. Catch the Spurs slam their way through the Southwest Division of the Western Conference. These four-time champions will not disappoint as they take the court at the AT&T Center. Enjoying a summer vacation in River City? Sneak in a game with the San Antonio Silver Stars for an action-packed ladies’ night out.
But hockey fans, we haven’t forgotten about you. For a bull of a hockey game in River City, check out the San Antonio Rampage. Another beloved team housed by the AT&T Center in downtown San Antonio, the Rampage is a member of the Western Conference of the American Hockey League. Catch the boys in silver and black as they battle the rest of the West Division on the ice, and keep an eye out for T-Bone – the right-shooting mascot of the San Antonio Rampage.
Tours of the AT&T Center are offered for the big fans – take advantage of these walking tours taking you past the H-E-B FAN Zone and luxury suites, and don’t forget to pick up a t-shirt from the Team Store. Enjoy a quick lunch at one of the many onsite restaurants, or just enjoy a game in San Antonio.
Not only is Austin the capital city of the Lone Star State and one hip town, but also home to the University of Texas – more importantly the Texas Longhorns.
