Hotels in Snyder, TX

As you prepare to explore northern Texas be sure to make plans to visit Snyder. A charming and friendly city, Snyder is located within the Texas Panhandle between Sweetwater and Post. Snyder took its name from William Henry Snyder, who operated a trading post in the area. Visit the Scurry County Coliseum for live shows.

A statue of a White Buffalo stands on the courthouse square, and the White Buffalo Festival, held each October, pays tribute that early phase of county history. In 1950 Snyder grew from a population of 4,000 to more than 12,000 after the discovery of Canyon Reef Oil Field.
