Best Western Shamrock Texas Hotels
Shamrock TX was established as a post office in 1890 at the dugout home of George Nichels, an Irish sheep rancher. The town was incorporated in 1911. Oil was discovered in 1926, and the town has seen highly productive natural gas wells in recent decades. Cattle, agriculture, tourism, oil and gas are the primary industries. The Shamrock community enjoys a small town atmosphere with the sweeping horizons and rolling plains Texas is known for. The annual St. Patrick's Day is a popular event in the town. For more information, contact the Shamrock Chamber of Commerce at 806-256-2501.
