Marshall Texas Lights Up!
In the northeast corner of Texas, along the I-20 in the Piney Woods, you'll find the self-proclaimed "pottery capital of the world" - little Marshall, Texas. Probably better known as the host city of one of the biggest light festivals in the USA, the annual "Wonderland of Lights" held during the holidays, Marshall is a small town that's big on culture and entertainment. Head downtown to the Washington Square area for a taste of 1800's Texas with the restored Amtrack passenger station on Washington Street and the Marshall Visual Arts Center with concerts and events year 'round.
Horse lovers and cattlemen undoubtedly know the Marshall City Arena, host to a full calendar of events from barrel racing competition to horse shows and rodeos. At just about 150 miles east of the Dallas/Fort Worth area and central to tri-state area attractions, Marshall visitors may come for the lights, but they come back for the rich culture, unique history and friendly hospitality.
