Found in northwestern Texas, Lamesa is a fun Texas town just south of Lubbock. Set halfway between Dallas and El Paso, Lamesa is known as the home of the chicken fried steak. This city encourages visitors to catch a movie at Sky-Vue Drive-In Theater, one of only a few left in the state, or check out annual celebrations like the Chicken Fried-Steak Festival. Lamesa is home to 100 acres of parkland, which include pools, softball fields and tennis courts.
Head to downtown Lamesa for the Dal Paso Museum housed in a former historic hotel. Check out artifacts and memorabilia of yesteryear Texas, as well as current works of art by Lamesa artisans. Visitors may also see what's playing at the Lamesa Community Players Theatre.
