Houston Kid-Friendly Activities
Family Fun in Space City
Houston is the fourth largest city in the country, and children’s activities are abundant throughout Space City. Look forward to Fort Travis Seashore Park in Galveston, the Great Texas Mosquito Festival in Clute, and of course, the Space Center, during your time in the Houston metropolitan area.
Houston’s Museum District is another must-visit during your vacation to east Texas. Welcoming over seven million annual guests, the Museum District features the Contemporary Arts Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts – one of the largest museums in the country – for the little artist in your family. The Houston Museum of Natural Science then features the kid-friendly Fondren Discovery Place and Cockrell Butterfly Center.
Of course if the kids aren’t fans of using their inside-voices, the Museum District is also home to the Houston Zoo – a 55-acre adventure featuring over 6,000 animals over 900 species.
For the future astronaut in your outfit, be sure to visit Space Center Houston – the visitor area for the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center. The kids can check out actual spacecrafts, or run through the Martian Matrix and Kid's Space Place. Take a tram tour of the LBJ Space Center, or view the fascinating films over at Northrop Grumman Theater and Destiny Theater.
It’s all here for you and your family to explore in Houston.
