Kid activities in Dallas & Fort Worth
Zoos, Aquariums & Six Flags Over Texas
It’s easy to find kid-friendly activities in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. Between the zoos, stadiums, and amusement parks of the Big D, you won’t know where to start.
If your kids are animal lovers, then you’ve come to the right place. Check the Dallas Zoo, the biggest and oldest zoo in Texas. Sine 1888, more than 1,800 animals and 400 species have made a home at the 106-acre Dallas Zoo. Don’t miss the ExxonMobil Endangered Tiger Habitat, the Koala Walkabout, and the Lacerte Family Children's Zoo – perfect for the extra little ones.
For a look at the sea life Dallas has to offer, head for the Dallas World Aquarium. Located in downtown’s West End Historic District, the the aquarium features a 20,000-gallon walk-through tunnel tank, and the eight-story, 400,000-gallon walk-through Mundo Maya exhibit. The aquarium also offers dry exhibits featuring the ecosystems of South America, South Africa, and Australia.
Treat the little athlete in your party to a football game at Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington – a little/big suburb of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. More family fun can be found in Arlington thanks to the famed Six Flags Over Texas amusement park – and Six Flags Hurricane Harbor during a summer vacation.
Don’t forget Fort Worth – also known as Cow Town – during your visit to the metroplex. Check out the Fort Worth Stockyards Station for an Old West adventure. Let the kids run through the Cowtown Cattlepen Maze, test your cowboy skills in the Rodeo Zone, or fill up on southern fare at Riscky's BBQ, Trailboss Burgers, or Habanero's Mexican Restaurant.
A great place to take the family – the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
