Looking for something to do in Houston? Good chance you’ll find yourself at Reliant Park. One of the largest and most diverse event complexes in the U.S., Reliant Park is home to Reliant Stadium, where the Houston Texans are winding down regular 2012 season home play. Houston basketball fans find the Rockets on the hardwood in downtown Houston at the Toyota Center. It’s early in the 2012 – 2013 season, and there is plenty of Houston Rockets action through the holidays and winter season. Hockey fans are also at home at Houston's Toyota Center enjoying the Houston Aeros in action on the ice.

Houston Texans fans, catch the last home game on December 23rd, when the Texans host the Vikings. Reliant Stadium also fills the event calendar with February’s Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and the Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas. Add the tradition of football to your holidays at the Meineke Car Care Bowl, on December 28th. Enjoy the excitement of a match-up between top teams from the Big Ten and Big 12. Arrive at Reliant Park early to launch the fun at TexFest, the biggest pregame party in Houston.

The Santa Hustle Race Series comes to the Texas Gulf Coast on December 23rd. Run the 2012 Galveston Santa Hustle Half Marathon or Texas 5K - join the race and make room for more of those wonderful holiday calories. Along with a custom dri-fit Santa shirt, runners receive a Santa hat and beard to wear during the run – that’s a lot of Santas running through the streets of Galveston.

In February 2013, Mardi Gras is coming to Galveston with some traditional Texas flair. Visit the Texas Gulf Coast on February 8th, for Boots on the Beach. Part of Mardi Gras Galveston, running February 1st through the 12th, Boots on the Beach is an ideal event for country music fans. Held at Beach Central Park in Galveston, it’s Mardi Gras fun Texas style.

Galveston hosts the 3rd largest Mardi Gras celebration in the United States. The first 12 days of February feature 5 masked balls, 19 balcony parties, 24 parades and 26 concerts, topped off with a few million beads. The 2013 celebration marks 102 years of Mardi Gras in Galveston.

February also brings the 2013 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo to the Space City. From February 25th through March 17th, Houston fills with livestock and horse shows, a rodeo and fun events for everyone. Athletes join in the Conoco Phillips Rodeo Run, as families line downtown Houston streets for the Rodeo Parade and fashionistas see the latest at the Go Tejano Committee's Annual Fashion Show. Catch exciting championship rodeo, sample championship BBQ and see championship livestock and horses, at the 2013 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
