Dripping Springs

Known as the Wedding Capital of Texas, Dripping Springs is a vibrant, small town set west of Austin in the heart of Texas Hill Country. Visitors are welcome to explore the City of Dripping Springs Farmers Market, the Pound House Museum, and plenty of historic sites.

Garrison Brothers Distillery

“Texas born from Texas corn,” the Garrison Brothers Distillery is the Lone Star State’s first and longest running distillery. Set in Hill Country in the town of Hye, the Garrison Brothers Distillery is home to Garrison Brothers Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey, as well as Sit and Sip Tours at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Sit and Sip Tours are $10 a person – unless you arrive on horseback – and lead visitors through an hour-long tour of the Garrison Brothers stillhouse. Private parties are available at the onsite Garrison Brothers Barrel Barn.

Hamilton Pool Nature Preserve

Those enduring the hot summers in the Hill Country of Texas, have a wonderful respite for the heat. The Hamilton Pool Nature Preserve features a canyon, a collapsed grotto and fifty-foot waterfall, flowing from the Hamilton Creek.

This historic swimming hole, formed from water erosion, dates back to 8,000 years ago, from the cultural remains found in the area. By 1980, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department named it the "most significant natural area in rural Travis County." 

This preserve is included in the 30,428-acre Balcones Canyonlands Preserve area. Whether swimming in the cool water or hiking along the park trails, there is plenty of outdoor fun to be had, in the Austin area.

Hill Country Lights Spectacular

Hill Country Lights Spectacular is an amazing annual display of 500,000 lights, during the holiday season. This free, drive-through display has received national attention, attracting fans from across the Hill Country region of Texas. This incredible display of lights, located in Johnson City, is a must-see holiday attraction.

The live nativity, One Silent Night, is featured during two nights in early December. The HoliDazzle Magical Light Show features over 20,000 animated lights, including the Magic of Christmas Tree. While in town, rest comfortably as a guest of Best Western hotels.

South By Southwest Music Festival & Conference

This award-winning winery is proud to use sustainable organic methods for producing quality grapes for their wines. T

he winery was the recipient of the Texas Class Champion-Silver, for their Texas Hills Vineyard Orange Moscato, High Plains 2010 and for the Texas Hills Vineyard Sangiovese, High Plains 2010. This Tucsan inspired winery was established in 1995 by the Gilstrap family, in the Texas Hill Country.

Their 25 acres of grapes includes vines of Italian grapes, such as Pinot Grigio, Orange Moscat, Sangiovese, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Merlot.
