Amon Carter Museum
Amon Carter Museum is 2.5 mi. w. at 3501 Camp Bowie Blvd. One of the country's foremost collections of American art including masterworks by such artists as Georgia O'Keeffe, Frederic Remington, Winslow Homer and Charles Russell. The interior walls of the museum are covered in fossilized Texas shell stone. Works also include sculpture, watercolors, prints and photographs. Fort Worth Museum of Science and History
Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is 2.5 mi. w. at 1501 Montgomery St. Permanent exhibits include ExploraZone, Hands On Science and Livelology: Science and History in Action. Interactive traveling exhibits also are offered. Noble Planetarium presents regular showings. A children's area features interactive exhibits and a play area for toddlers. CSI: The Experience, a temporary multimedia exhibit scheduled to open in the summer of 2008, immerses visitors in forensic science through interactive crime-solving challenges. Fort Worth Zoo
Fort Worth Zoo is off I-30 exit University Dr., then s. to 1989 Colonial Pkwy. Ranked as one of the nation's top zoos, the 64-acre complex is home to more than 4,000 animals from around the world. Visitors can stroll along a boardwalk to view elephants, rhinoceroses, Indochinese tigers and sun bears at Asian Falls. The 2.5-acre World of Primates contains a tropical rain forest where endangered lowland gorillas and other primates roam. Other habitats include the African Savannah, Raptor Canyon, Parrot Paradise, Australian Outback, Meerkat Mounds and a herpetarium. More than 300 indigenous animals are featured at Texas Wild!, an 8-acre exhibit that re-creates an 1890s pioneer town and six geographic regions of the Lone Star State. Fossil Rim Wildlife Center
Come and Discover Fossil Rim… where you can see animals living in their near natural environment. National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame
National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame is at 1720 Gendy St. Exhibits honor more than 176 cowgirls and their achievements. Galleries, a theater and rotunda with a hall of fame are included.
