Visiting Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex
The Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex by other names may be Irving, Arlington, Addison or Denison. Arrivals at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, Texas’ largest airport, find themselves mid-way between Dallas and Fort Worth, in the heart of Irving and Grapevine. Business travelers disperse to communities like Irving’s Las Colinas; sports fans flock to the stands at Arlington’s Cowboys Stadium; while family members return to suburbs like Denton and Denison to the north, or Kaufman, Gun Barrel City and Athens to the east. Travelers looking for hotels in the Dallas Fort Worth area – check for a Best Western near your destination.
DFW arrivals find Best Western hotels in Irving and North Richland Hills convenient. Visiting family? Check into Best Western locations in Greenville or Hillsboro. Best Western hotels on Market Center and N Central Expressway put travelers in the heart of downtown Dallas. With locations on South Freeway, West Loop and N Freeway, Best Western offers Fort Worth travelers in need of a hotel convenient options around the city.
It’s the season to visit Arlington. Home of Six Flags Over Texas, Hurricane Harbor and Texas Rangers Ballpark – come join the fun. With a full regular season schedule through September, the Texas Rangers are filling the stands. Bring the family out for Dr Pepper Autograph Wednesdays, Thirsty Tuesdays or Blue Bell Ice Cream Sundays. Six Flags is open every day through August 21st and the fun continues weekends and holidays through fall. Remember Cowboy Stadium in Arlington hosts the Dallas Cowboys preseason starting mid-August, with the 2011 regular season home opener on September 26 against Washington.
Perhaps most recognized as the home of the Mustangs at Las Colinas, Irving is also home to Irving Arts Center on N MacArthur Boulevard. With galleries, performance stages and Sculpture Garden, IAC is a highlight of Irving. The Arts Center hosts Genghis Khan the Exhibition through September 30th. This exceptional interactive multi-media exhibition is a must for Irving visitors.
Travel to Greenville for family fun September 16th through the 18th. The 2011 Rally ‘Round Greenville Festival in downtown Greenville kicks-off with the Emerald City Band followed by a weekend of art, food and an antique auto show. Cyclists join in the Cotton Patch Challenge Bicycle Race and Tour including USCF road races and the exciting Criterium Race over the Audie Murphy overpass. Easy to get to, Greenville is east of Dallas on Interstate 30 and State Road 380.
Addison, north of Dallas and the Lyndon B Johnson Freeway, is a delightful suburb and home of Mary Kay Inc World Headquarters. Enjoy Addison’s free Summer Events Series including Summer Salsa music and dance lessons at Beckert Park, Saturday nights through August. Addison Circle Park hosts 2011 Addison Oktoberfest September 15th through 18th. Bargain hunters don’t miss the Addison Community Garage Sale October 1st.
The Dallas Fort Worth metro area and it’s communities are ready for your visit.
