Hotels in Clarendon, TX
Travel into northern Texas and visit Clarendon. One of the many charming and pleasant cities in the Panhandle of Texas, Clarendon is home to the Greenbelt Reservoir and is nearly the midway point between Amarillo and Childress. This city was established by the Methodist minister, L.H. Carhart, in 1878 as a "sobriety settlement."
Clarendon is now the seat of Donley County. Many of the museums in the area feature fossilized specimens that were found from the Clarendonian Age. Today farming and ranching are still the primary source of revenue for the area. Travel along Highway 70 and explore the scenic Caprock Canyons State Park – an ideal destination for your spring or summer stay in Clarendon.
