Make your way towards the Gulf and explore an eclectic and pleasant region of Texas. Beeville, found between Refugio and George West, might be a hidden gem. Less than 50 miles inland from the adventure filled waters of the Gulf of Mexico, Beeville is a city rich in small town charm.

This city, which sits on Poesta Creek, was originally named Maryville for Mary Hefferman. She was the last surviving member of a family that was killed in 1853. The city became the seat of Bee County in 1860 and was renamed "Beeville-on-the-Poesta." It is the largest retail center in the six-county area and is home of Coastal Bend College.
