University of Texas at El Paso
Set in El Paso, the University of Texas at El Paso is a branch of the University of Texas. Established in 1914, UTEP is a four-year, public university offering a wide range of degree programs. UTEP was originally founded as the Texas State School of Mines and Metallurgy. It has since evolved into the biggest university in the Big Bend region of Texas.
UTEP features 16 varsity sports teams competing in Conference USA. The UTEP Miners have seen moderate success in football and basketball, while boasting multiple championships in Men's Cross Country, and Men's Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field.
