State Capitol Complex

The State Capitol Complex in downtown Austin, is home to the 19th-century Renaissance Revival style Capitol building. Completed in 1888, the beautiful Capitol building is the largest of all the state capitols in square footage. Enjoy walking the grounds' 22-acres to view the seventeen monuments.

During your visit to the Capitol, schedule time to stroll through the Capitol Visitors Center, housed in the 1857 General Land Office Building. It remains the oldest state building in Texas.
