Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge
The skyline of Dallas is dotted with several iconic landmarks and skyscrapers. The Renaissance Tower, Comerica Bank Tower and Fountain Place are a few of the postmodernist skyscrapers in downtown Dallas.
One of the newest Dallas landmarks is the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. This beautiful six-lane bridge designed by Santiago Calatrava, crosses the Trinity River, connecting Woodall Rodgers Freeway to Singleton Boulevard. This West Dallas cable-stayed bridge spans 1,870 feet in length.
The bridge opened on March 29, 2012, and features a 400-foot central arch pylon. Over 40,000 people attended the opening ceremony, which included fireworks, performances by Lyle Lovett, Jonathan Tyler, and the Northern Lights – plus celebrity chefs, a street fair, and the Trinity River Levee 5K and 10K Run.
