Fire Museum of Texas

The Fire Museum of Texas, in downtown Beaumont, has been preserving the history of fire fighting service since it opened in 1986. The museum is housed in a 1927 Central Fire Station, a Historic Landmark in eastern Texas. Since admission is free, visit as often as you like.

Museum highlights include the 1856 Howe Hand Drawn Pumper, the 1909 Aerial ladder truck and the 1931 Light Truck that was used in the search efforts of the 1937 New London School Explosion. The interactive mini house is a favorite for the children visiting the museum. Stay close to the museum and several other Beaumont attractions as a guest of Best Western hotels.
