Dallas Heritage Village
History is alive in the Big D. Visit the Dallas Heritage Village for a glimpse into life as it was between 1840 and 1910. This educational village is located in the Old City Park, the first city park built in 1876 on the south side of downtown Dallas. Then 21 buildings were transported to the site to establish the village.
Millermore, an historic plantation home, was saved from demolition becoming the first building to be rebuilt on the site. It opened in 1969 as a museum.
Stroll through this wonderful collection of historical artifacts and buildings to learn more about the history of Dallas and the surrounding areas. Many area students visit this wonderful historical village during field trips where they become engaged in 19 century life.
