Set along Interstate 40 west of Amarillo, Cadillac Ranch is one of Texas' most unique attractions.
A group of 10 Cadillacs dating from 1948 to 1963 are half-way buried in the Texas Panhandle, each uniquely decorated by its visitors.
In 1974, Stanley Marsh III created this art exhibit near Historic Route 66 with help from "The Ant Farm" – a San Francisco art group. The majority of the Cadillacs were bought from junk yards at the time.
The public is encouraged to leave their mark on this ever-changing sculpture.
