Texas Hotel Reservations
The Precambrian granitic soil of Texas' Hill Country has been the fertile land for the Becker Vineyards since 1992. The Becker family planted their first vines of the 46-acre vineyard, on the site where Mustang grapes were planted by German neighbors years before near Fredericksburg.
Their French Vinifera vines produced a variety of fourteen wines, including Petite Syrah, Malbec, Syrah, Petite Verdot, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. Visit the 10,040-square-foot winery, built as a 19th-century German stone barn, to view the antique windows, the large stone fireplace and the antique bar from the Green Tree Saloon.
While at the winery, stop by the tasting room to sample the delicious wines and view the local art hanging on the walls. Be sure to smell the home-grown lavender from the Beckers' lavender fields, in the potpourris, soaps, and sachets.
