Abilene Zoo

Established in 1966, the Abilene Zoological Gardens is a popular kid-friendly attraction in Texas’ Big Bend Country. Located in the city of Abilene, the Abilene Zoo features 500 animals and over 200 species across 13 acres. Welcoming nearly 200,000 visitors each year, the zoo is a member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

Permanent Abilene Zoo exhibits include the Creepy Crawler Center, the Wetlands Boardwalk, and guest-favorite, the Giraffe Habitat – featuring a high bridge allowing visitors to feed the giraffes up close.
