Major Airports in Dallas/Fort Worth & Houston
San Antonio International Airport
Set in Texas Hill Country, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) serves the city of Austin, as well as surrounding suburbs like Cedar Park, Round Rock, and Bastrop. A mixed-use commercial airport, AUS is served by major airlines such as American, Delta, Southwest, United, Frontier and Jet Blue.
The greater Houston area supports two commercial service airports: George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU). Serving the city of Houston, Sugar Land, and other area suburbs, IAH is major hub for United Airlines. Houston’s secondary airport, HOU serves as a minor hub for Southwest Airlines, and is home to the 1940 Air Terminal Museum.
Two primary airports serve the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex: Dallas Love Field (DAL) and the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). The corporate headquarters for Southwest Airlines, DAL is supported by United, Delta, SeaPort, and of course, Southwest. Texas’ busiest airport, DFW is supported by most major air lines, including Delta, American, United, and US Airways, plus British Airways, Cayman Airways, and Korean Air.
The San Antonio International Airport (SAT) is located in the southern plains of Texas, and serves the city of San Antonio as well as surrounding communities such as Floresville, Hondo, and New Braunfels. A public commercial airport, SAT is served by major airlines like Southwest, United, Delta, American, and US Airways.
Set in Big Bend Country, El Paso International Airport (ELP) serves the city of El Paso as well as surrounding communities like Anthony, and is supported by Delta, United, American and Southwest. Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport (AMA) is located in the Texas Panhandle, and serves the city of Amarillo. The Valley International Airport (HRL) serves Harlingen – one of the border towns of Texas.
